IDoc configuration on PI Integration engine - notes

Port definition

tcode: IDX1


  • fill port name (later used in com. channel) in header
  • fill client in header
  • fill RFC destination to the system
  • fill partner no and type 
RFC Destination and partner No should be same name (probably)

tcode: IDX2


  • metadata should be loaded here for the idoc type and port
  • click create and fill idoc type + extension if exists
  • fill port name
If ok - message
Metadata loaded for port xxx

Tips: If metadata doesnt load or there is communication error - check if user is not locked or is existent in end system.


Communication channel

  • Set RFC Destination, which is used in a port
  • Set Port defined in previous step
  • Set SAP Release

Dont forget to load metadata of each IDoc used in a communication.
